Hello everyone. Many people pray for healing when they are acutely or chronically ill, whether in body or mind, and this definitely includes me. Today’s prayer came out of thinking through what I really wanted to ask for in more detail!
Healing
* She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed” (Matthew 9:21; NIV).
* Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
* Spread your protection over them (Psalm 5:11; NIV).
* He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge (Psalm 91:4; NIV).
Father,
I’m so tired of being ill.
If I could touch the hem of your robe,
I would be healed;
But your Son is the only one who may see you,
So what hope is there for me?
Perhaps an angel could take my hand,
Guide me through the darkness surrounding you,
Cover my eyes, to save them from your blinding light,
Shield me from destruction by your consuming fire,
And lead me safely into your holy presence –
Then I could fall on my knees before you,
Touch the hem of your garment,
And be healed.
But I dare not ask this, Lord,
Let alone presume to approach you;
And how could I plead for myself alone,
When all around the world,
Millions suffer so much more?
Instead,
I beg you to cover the whole earth with your mantle,
So it touches every one of us,
Healing us all in body and mind,
In heart and soul.
