Loss and learning

Hi to all readers. Experience is a great teacher, and has the potential to help us grow in empathy and care for others throughout our lives. The more losses of all kinds we have to face and work through, the more deeply we realise what others are suffering as well, enabling us to reach out to them with greater love and understanding.

Loss and learning
*The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised (Job 1:21;NIV).
* Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? (Job 2:10; NIV).
* Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
* Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn (Romans 12:15).

Father God,
Thank you for all you have given to me in my lifetime,
And for all you have taken away.

Thank you for all you have left to me,
And for all I have learned.

Please help me to use everything you have left to me,
And everything I have learned,
To help others,
And to serve your kingdom.

I ask this in Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.
