Hello, everyone. I’ve always had big problems with anger, both other people’s, and my own. Over the last three years, I’ve been slowly exploring new ways of handling these issues. Today’s prayer expresses one particular breakthrough along the way…
Anger
* The LORD is slow to anger but great in power (Nahum 1:3; NIV).
* Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? (Nahum 1:6; NIV).
* As for God, his way is perfect (2 Samuel 22:31; NIV).
Father,
Even you get angry,
And you are perfect!
So maybe it’s OK for me
To feel angry as well.
Maybe I just need
To recognise my outrage,
And share it with you.
Then I can ask for your help,
Well before taking action.
Lord,
May I be quick to recognise my anger,
But slow to act on it –
Like you.
This is very helpful to me, Ruth. I have the same problem!
Paul
Thanks, Paul, it’s so encouraging to know that someone else finds one of my prayers helpful! XXXXXX
