Hi to every reader. I have no difficulty at all in believing that other people’s sins can be forgiven. However, there are definitely times when I find it extremely difficult to believe that my sins can be, and have been, forgiven. I doubt if I’m alone in this, though.
Unbelief
* Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins
(Psalm 103:2-3; NIV).
* Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief”
(Mark 9:24; NIV).
Father,
There are times
When I lack confidence
That I’m acceptable to you,
Times when it’s hard to believe
You really have forgiven all my sins.
Yet I do believe, Lord –
Please help me
Where my faith falls short.
I ask this in Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.
