Hello to every reader. When life is manageable, it’s usually fairly easy to feel grateful, and to thank God wholeheartedly. But when things are very painful, stressful and difficult, Titus’s encouragement to “Give thanks in all circumstances”, can seem totally unrealistic and unreasonable. However, God knows about everything that happens to us, and is always ready to help us learn the most, and bring the very best, out of each event, however testing. So, today’s prayer is one for both good days and bad…
Prayer
* Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19-20).
* And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests (Ephesians 6:18).
* Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’ s will for you in Jesus Christ (1 Titus 5:16-18).
* And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called acceding to his purpose (Romans 8:28; NIV).
Father,
By the power of your Holy Spirit,
Please help me to pray ceaselessly,
Giving thanks to you for all things,
And in all circumstances.
Help me to spread your love with boldness
And to serve you in every way I can –
Whatever life brings.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
