Hi, everyone. I’ll try to make it just one blog today! I used to find it impossible to believe that God could possibly find it in his heart to forgive all my sins. Then I slowly came to trust that he has, in fact, forgiven me, and continues to do so on a daily basis. However, I still couldn’t forgive myself. It was only a day or two ago that the realisation encapsulated in today’s prayer hit me squarely, and really made me think…
Forgiveness
* Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits – who forgives all your sins (Psalm 103:2-3; NIV).
* In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us (Ephesians 1:7-8; NIV).
* This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins (Matthew 26:28; NIV).
* I am writing to you, dear children, because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name (1 John 2:12; NIV).
Lord,
There’s no two ways about it –
You’ve forgiven all my sins.
So maybe it’s time
I forgave myself as well!
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
