Hello, everyone. Today’s prayer asks, and answers, a significant question…
Forgiveness
* When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals – one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:34; NIV).
* While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them” (Acts 7:59-60; NIV).
Father,
There is a question
That has puzzled me for years:
Can I pray for someone’s sins to be forgiven,
Even if they don’t acknowledge
Having hurt me?
Ah! You answer quickly:
Yes, of course!
As he was being crucified,
Christ himself cried out:
“Father, forgive them,
For they do not know
What they are doing.”
Following his example,
Whilst Stephen was being stoned to death,
He begged you:
“Lord, do not hold this sin against them.”
Father, thank you so much
For answering my question.
You pour out mercy,
Forgiveness and love –
Please help me to do the same.
