Care and share
“Is this not the kind of fasting I have chosen: […] to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter – when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” (Isaiah 58:7-7; NIV).
John answered, “Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same (Luke 3:11; NIV).
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased (Hebrews 13:16; NIV).
Love your neighbour as yourself (Luke 10:27; NIV).
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love (Galatians 5:6; NIV).
Lord,
Please help us all
To care for one another,
Regardless of colour,
Race,
Or creed,
And to share
The world’s resources
More fairly
With those who have
Less than ourselves.
We ask this
In Jesus’ holy name,
Amen.
