Father,
I pray for an end to war,
And all that underpins it –
Our ignorance,
Hatred,
Fear,
Enmity,
Selfishness,
Brutality,
Greed
And bitterness.
Help us to love you
With all our heart, soul,
Mind and strength,
And to love our neighbours
As ourselves,
Forgiving others,
Just as you forgive us.
Then we will move
From war to peace at last –
With you,
With other people,
And even within ourselves.
Lord,
May your kingdom come soon,
And your will be done on earth,
As it is in heaven.
