Dust

Hello everyone. Today there are two short reflections on the same theme:

Dust

“Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home” (Matthew 8:8; NLT).

Then Abraham spoke again. “Since I have begun, let me speak further to my Lord, even though I am but dust and ashes” (Genesis 18:27; NLT).

Serve only the LORD your God and fear him alone. Obey his commands, listen to his voice, and cling to him (Deuteronomy 13:4; NLT).

…lead me along the path of everlasting life (Psalm 139:24; NLT).

Lord,
I am not worthy
To approach you.

Let me be a speck of dust
Clinging to your sandal,

So I can follow the path of everlasting life
In your presence every day.

Through Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Dust

For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust (Psalm 103:14; NLT).

If any household or town refuses to welcome you or listen you your message, shake its dust from your feet as you leave (Matthew 10:14; NLT).

Though they stumble they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand
(Psalm 37:24; NLT).

Lord,
You know how weak I am.

I’m only a speck of dust
Clinging to your sandal.

When I let you down,
Please don’t shake me off.

When I stumble,
Please don’t let me fall.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
