The basics of faith

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see (Hebrews 11:1; NLT).

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind (Luke 10:27; NIV).

Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent” (John 6:29; NLT).

But when my Father sends the Advocate as my representative – that is, the Holy Spirit – he will teach you everything (John 14:26; NLT).

‘You must worship the LORD your God and serve him only’ (Luke 4:8; NLT).

Father,
I love you
With all my heart, soul,
Mind and strength.

I believe
In your Son,
Our Saviour,
Jesus Christ.

Please fill me
With your Holy Spirit,
Our Advocate
And Teacher.

May I live
In your presence forever,
Worshipping and serving
You alone.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
