The curtain

The curtain

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine” (Isaiah 55:8; NLT).

And the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom (Mark 15:38; NLT).

For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face
(1 Corinthians 13:12; NIV).

Lord,
We can’t describe you,
Nor can we understand
Your thoughts,
For you are far beyond us
In every way.

But we know
You are love,
And light,
And fire;
And we know
You are near.

Help us to fix our hearts
On you,
Seeking you
Throughout our lives,
Until we pass through
The torn curtain of death,
And see you face to face
At last.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
