Sin and love
It’s your sins that have cut you off from your God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen any more (Isaiah 59:2; NLT).
Clouds and thick darkness surround him (Psalm 97:2; NIV).
The LORD your God is a devouring fire (Deuteronomy 4:24; NLT).
Jesus replied, ” ‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind’ ” (Matthew 22:37; NLT).
Lord,
Sin clouds my mind,
So I can’t see you;
Thick darkness fills my heart,
So I can’t find you;
But fire burns in my soul,
So at least I can love you!
