INVISIBLE GOD

Invisible God

So God created human beings in his own image (Genesis 1:27; NLT).

My heart says of you, “Seek his face!” (Psalm 27:8; NIV).

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear (Isaiah 59:2; NIV).

Clouds and thick darkness surround him (Psalm 97:2; NIV).

For now we see through a glass, darkly (1 Corinthians 13:12; KJV).

No, I will not abandon you as orphans (John 14:18; NLT).

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16; NIV).

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God (Colossians 1:15; NLT).

Invisible God,
You create us in your own image.

We seek your face,
But your glory
Is hidden by our sins.

Searching for you
Is like peering
Through an unlit window in the dark –
We only see an indistinct reflection
Of ourselves.

So we imagine you
To be like us,
Creating you in our image,
And fighting over who is right.

Yet, Lord,
Despite our ignorance and strife,
You don’t abandon us.

Instead, you send your only Son,
To show what you are like –
For he is the visible image of you,
Invisible God.
