Dry

O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water (Psalm 63:1; NLT).

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? (Psalm 22:1; NLT).

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13; NLT).

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words (Romans 8:26; NRSV).

My God,
Where are you?
Have you abandoned me?

My body is weak,
My mind, distressed.
My heart is empty,
And my soul is dry.

Let me hear your voice,
And feel your presence,
For my life is a desert
Where I cannot even pray.

Father,
Please help me.
May your Son
Give me the strength
To search for you,

And your Sprit
Pray for me,
With sighs
Too deep for words.

Amen.
