“Keep on seeking, and you will find” (Matthew 7:7; NLT).
But many were amazed when they saw him. His face was so disfigured he seemed hardly human, and from his appearance, one would scarcely know he was a man (Isaiah 52:14; NLT).
But Jesus replied, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head” (Matthew 8:20; NLT).
Some said, “He’s demon-possessed and out of his mind. Why listen to a man like that?” (John 10:20; NLT).
Then Jesus explained his meaning: “I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do” (Matthew 21:31; NLT).
“And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me’ ” (Matthew 25:45; NLT).
Lord Jesus,
Seeking you
Is quite a challenge –
What with your odd appearance,
And the colour of your skin,
Your unfamiliar clothes,
And foreign tongue,
Your unconventional lifestyle,
And your strange religious views –
Yet you are waiting to be found
In everyone we meet,
From all of whom
We have so much to learn.
