“Love your enemies!” (Matthew 5:44; NLT).
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:8; NIV).
Love is kind (1 Corinthians 13:4; NIV).
The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love
(Galatians 5:6; NIV).
Father,
Loving you
Means learning to love myself
And everyone else –
Even those I find toxic.
There’s no way round this,
As, “Whoever does not love
Does not know God,
For God is love”.
Please help me
To practice loving every day,
By being kind
In thought, and word, and deed;
For the only thing
That counts with you at all
Is faith
Expressing itself through love.
