Some people
Casually trample my identity
Beneath their feet.
They call me by my husband’s name,
Or, worse still, ignore me totally,
Addressing him alone
About our joint concerns.
Help me to speak the truth
To them with love,
And though I’m angry,
Help me not to sin,
Praying for them, instead,
With pity
And forgiveness
In my heart.
