Think clearly and exercise self-control (1 Peter 1:13; NLT).

No one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison (James 3:8; NLT).

If we could control our tongues, we would be perfect (James 3:2; NLT).

A gossip goes around telling secrets (Proverbs 11:13; NLT).

Do not judge others, and you will not be judged (Matthew 7:1-2; NLT).

Like a city that is broken down and without wall, so is a person who cannot control his temper (Proverbs 25:28; NET).

Please help me
To be aware
Of every thought,
So I can control my tongue –

Rather than gossiping,
Criticising others,
Or losing my temper.
