The paradox of contemplation

God is with us (Matthew 1:23; NLT).

Be silent before the Sovereign Lord (Zephaniah 1:7; NIV).

Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light (Micah 7:8; NLT).

Be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10; NIV).

Lord,
Though I’m alone,
You’re my companion;

And in the silence,
I can hear your voice.

Although my eyes are closed,
You light my darkness;

And though I’m sitting still,
We meet, and dance.
