When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things (1 Corinthians 13:11; NLT).
What can mere mortals do to me? (Psalm 56:4; NLT).
Lord,
My mind sees what it used to see,
In childhood.
My heart fears what it used to fear,
Back then.
But that was many years ago;
Now, I’m full-grown.
I can speak out, apologise,
Explain.
Please help my weary mind to grasp
That life has changed,
So I no longer need to dread
What others say.
