Delight in giving

The Lord will […] delight in being good to you (Deuteronomy 30:9; NLT).

Great is the Lord, who delights in blessing his servant with peace! (Psalm 35:27; NLT).

Moses made haste to bow his head toward the earth, and worshipped (Exodus 34:8; RSV).

Be silent before the Sovereign Lord (Zephaniah 1:7; NIV).

Lord,
When I glimpse
The depths of your delight
In giving,
I can only bow my head
In silent worship.

I depend on you

He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person (Genesis 2:7; NLT).

The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life (Job 33:4; NLT).

Then Jesus shouted, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” And with those words he breathed his last (Luke 23:46; NLT).

Lord,
I depend on you
Completely,

For every time
I breathe you in,

Oxygen streams
Into my blood,

Giving me life,
Until my final breath.

May I love you

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength (Mark 12:30; NLT).

“My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed (John 20:28; NLT).

The fool says in his heart, “There is no God” (Psalm 14:1; NIV).

…………………………………………………………………………..

May I love you,
Lord, my God,

Enough for two,
Or twenty-two,

Two hundred and two,
Or even two thousand and two –

On behalf of those
Who don’t love you at all.

We are your living temple

We are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God (John 20:31; NLT).

God is Spirit (John 4:24; NLT).

……………………………………………………………………………

We are your living temple,
God, our Father.

We are your living temple,
Christ, the Son.

We are your living temple,
Holy Spirit.

We are your living temple,
Three in One.

Time out

There is one Lord […] who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

In him we live and move and have our being (Act 17:28; NIV).

You are the temple of the living God (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

Meditation offers us time out
From the uniquely human illusion
That we are separate
From all living things,
Including God.

One perfect love

There is only one God (Romans 3:30; NLT).

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love (1 John 4:8; NIV).

……………………………………………………………………………………………………

It makes no sense
For people of one faith
To hate those of another,
For there is only you –
Lord God –
One perfect Love
For all.

You are Spirit

The Spirit of Jesus Christ helps me (Philippians 1:19; NLT).

God is Spirit (John 4:24; NLT).

You are our God (2 Chronicles 14:11; NLT).

………………………………………………………………………………………..

Lord Jesus,
You are Spirit –

The Spirit of light,
And fire;

The Spirit of truth,
And peace;

The Spirit of love,
And holiness –

For you are our Lord,
And our God.

Recognition

Suddenly their eyes were opened, and they recognised him (Luke 24:31; NLT).

O nations of the world, recognise the Lord (1 Chronicles 16:28; NLT).

God speaks again and again, though people do not recognise it (Job 33:14; NLT).

…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Lord God,
May I recognise you today
In everything I see,
All those I meet,
And even in myself.

We are one

In him we live and move and have our being (Act 17:28; NIV).

There is one Lord […] who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

You are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28; NLT).

I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one (John 17:22; NLT).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17).

……………………………………………………………………………………………
Lord God,
In you we live
And move,
And have our being;

For you are over all,
In all,
And living through all –

So we are one.

Treasures

Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be (Matthew 6:21; NLT).

I will give you treasures hidden in the darkness (Isaiah 45:3; NLT).

The Almighty himself will be your treasure (Job 22:25; NLT).

In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Hebrews 11:26; NLT).

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

Lord,
If we give ourselves to you
Completely,
You share with us
Your treasures –
Peace,
And love.
