Unity

Pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17; NIV).

Whoever is united with the Lord is one with him in spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17; NIV).

***************************

Lord God,
May I pray ceaselessly,
In unity with you.

    • Hi! Thanks for your follow. To me, praying ceaselessly means being aware of the presence of God, no matter what’s happening around me, and being always in communication with God within. At different times I might be be praying for others, or for the world, or praising God, or rejoicing in nature. I’ll also be sharing with God how I’m feeling, or whatever is going on in my mind or heart. To me, the most wonderful ceaseless prayer lies in silence, just being companionably, or humbly, or gratefully, or terrifyingly close to God, without needing any words – the extraordinary experience of being One. Of course, I don’t in any way manage this all the time, but it’s what I move towards. I’d be very interested to hear what you make of those same words, as I suspect they mean something different to each person. All best wishes from Ruth xxx
