Dancing for joy

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him (Psalm 37:7; NIV).

Listen to his voice (Deuteronomy 30:20; NIV).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

You also are complete through your union with Christ (Colossians 2:10; NLT).

***********************************

I don’t want to spend my time
In contemplation
Picturing the past
And what might come;

Instead, I want to spend the time
In stillness,
Waiting patiently for you,
For we are one.

I don’t want to spend my time
In contemplation
Reflecting on the past
And what might come;

Instead, I want to spend my time
In silence,
Listening for your voice,
For we are one.

I don’t want to spend my time
In contemplation,
Fretting about the past
And what might come;

Instead, I want to spend it
In the present,
Dwelling in your love,
For we are one.

I don’t want to spend my time
In contemplation
Brooding on the past
And what might come;

Instead, I want to spend it
In your arms, Lord,
Dancing for joy with you,
For we are one.
