Instead of prayer

You guide me on your way,
Though I can’t touch you.
I simply know you help me
Every day.

Beyond my death, Lord Jesus,
You are waiting
To fold me in your arms,
Where I will stay.

You speak the truth to me,
Though I can’t hear you.
Instead, I sense your voice
In silent prayer.

Beyond my death, Lord Jesus,
You are waiting.
We’ll talk; and I will know
Your loving care.

You are my daily bread,
Though I can’t taste you.
I only know your words
Are wise and true.

Beyond my death, Lord Jesus,
You are waiting,
And then, with joy,
I’ll feast my eyes on you.

You are my light each day,
Though I can’t see you;
I simply trust
That you are always there.

Beyond my death, Lord Jesus,
You are waiting,
Then I’ll gaze upon your face,
Instead of prayer.
