When we do all the talking

Father God,

When we
Do all the talking
During prayer,

It’s easy
To confuse our will
With yours.

Only when we listen, Lord,
In silence
For your voice

Can we hear
The gentle words
Our speech obscures.

    • Ha! I was thinking of you and all your family 5 mins ago, then your kind words arrived! Thank you so much. I’ve got to read it again now, as I hadn’t noticed any subtlety at all! Love from Ruth XXXX

    • Lol Ruth, it must come naturally to you then.

I was referring to the soft vowel sounds in yours and obscures. There are no harsh vowel sounds … the gentleness has a calming effect to someone who is confused and struggling, encouraging them just to be still and listen. It works for me. ☺x
