Help me to face this task (#1 of 2 linked prayers)

Today’s prayer can be said repeatedly both before, and whilst, facing any task we find hard.

A child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called: Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
(Isaiah 9:6; NLT).

1. Jesus,
Wondrous Counsellor,
You care for me each day.

2. Jesus,
Mighty God and King,
You hear me when I pray.

3. Jesus,
Everlasting Father,
Grant me what I ask:

4. Jesus,
Prince of Peace, my Lord,
Please help me face this task.

    I love this picture. It is so tender. When we visited The Garden of Gethsemane a few years ago, I had expected that everyone would be hushed and silent. I had plans to pray the sorrowful mysteries of the rosary. Alas, there was no silence; everyone was loudly talking, and not about Jesus. Now, as then, people seem to be unwilling to pray with Jesus. Thanks for posting, and for your insights. 🤗

      • Ruth, I knew you would understand. At the Garden of Gethsemane, a church has been built. The church is kept in darkness, with minimal lighting , for safe movement. However, the reverence of this solemn place was broken by lights continually flashing during the mass, as people took pictures. I spend time each day consoling the heart of Jesus. I think he appreciates it.

      • That’s dreadful. I’ve never ever heard of anyone taking a photo during mass before. In my church (The Shrine of Our Lady of Rushen, on the Isle of Man), you can hear a pin drop before and during mass, out of respect and love. Praying to condole Christ is a fantastic idea. I wonder if this is a special ministry you have been given? xxxxxx

      • Hi Ruth : We both live on islands ! I am going to research the Isle of Man. How beautiful the sacred silence that you observe during the mass. This is what our Lord deserves. There is a book I read, called Consoling the Heat of Jesus, which I first read about on line. It convinced me that our Lord appreciates our prayers of consolation. I am deeply moved by your beautiful posts.
