1. Help me, Lord,
To work without resentment,
2. Carrying my cross
3. Then help me, Lord,
To wait on you in silence,
4. So I can serve afresh,
1. Mary sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.” But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:39-42; NLT).
What gain has he that he toiled for the wind, and spent all his days in darkness and grief, in much vexation and sickness and resentment? (Ecclesiastes 5:17; RSV).
2. Then he said to them all, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23; NIV).
3. Be silent before the Lord, all humanity (Zechariah 2:13; NLT).
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28; NIV).
4. Serve him wholeheartedly (Joshua 24:14; NLT).
