You poured your teaching out

My life is poured out like water
(Psalm 22:14; NLT).

1. Lord,
You poured your teaching out:
Stories,
Guidance,
Prayer.

2. Lord,
You poured your blessings out:
Friendship,
Patience,
Care.

3. Lord,
You poured your mercy out:
Pardon,
Healing,
Love.

4. Lord,
You poured your Spirit out:
Anguish,
Pleading,
Blood.

      • Oh, Lesley, that one of the loveliest things anyone has ever said to me. I don’t know what to say. I’m very touched XXXXXX

      • Yes, you’re right. It can be surprising, startling, even alarming as the inspiration for each piece just arrives. I’ve been known to hide under my duvet. Sometimes the writing takes over my whole life and I get horribly exhausted. Sometimes there is nothing for days, and I start to think it has all come to an end, then suddenly it starts up again. Sometimes the poems come in my dreams. I have to be prepared to go with the inspiration at any time, night and day. XxxxxxX

      • Inspiration often comes when we’re trying to get to sleep or, as you say, in our dreams or in the early hours of the morning just as we’re drifting off to sleep. What’s God up to, I wonder. lol I once jumped off a bus and rushed straight to the public loos to jot something down that came to me. Why I didn’t think of a café I’ll never know! xxx
