We are dying

We live in the face of death
(2 Corinthians 4:12; NLT).

Father,

1. We are dying
All day long,
Even in the flower
Of our youth.

2. We do not know the day, Lord,
Or the hour –
Jesus simply tells
The honest truth.

3. The time will come
When we must lose our lives.
Prepared or not,
We take our final breath.

4. Then we must stand
Before your judgement seat,
To face you, blessed Lord,
Beyond our death.
