The mind of Christ

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus
(Philippians 2:5; NKJV).

1. I share my mortal dread with you:
Father,
Help me to do your will.

2. I share my agony with you:
Strengthen my faith

To trust you still.

3. I share my dying breath with you:
Father,
Receive my sacrifice.

4. I share my endless joy with you:
For we are one,
In paradise.

The thing that I fear comes upon me, and what I dread befalls me (Job 3:25; RSV).

If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine (Matthew 26:39; NLT).

  • Philippians 2:5 is definitely God’s Word for me today, it was referenced in my reading this morning. I come to your post Ruth, and here it is again! Isn’t our Father God amazing? We had a power cut here this morning, nothing was working. But the power continues to run from Heaven’s throne to His children!
“Teach me today Father to adopt the mind of your Son, my Saviour.”

    • That really made me smile! I’m so glad that all these nourishing nudges have come together for you today. You are SO right about the power from heaven. I was able to go to mass with our new priest for the first time this morning, then to confession and reconciliation, which is a great mercy XXXXXX
