Deeper than words

May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is (Ephesians 3:18; NLT).

1. Deeper than words
Are our thoughts, dear Lord,

2. And deeper than thoughts,
Our emotions.

3. Deeper, by far,
Our sensations, dear Lord,

4. But deepest of all
Is your love.

  • The depth of God’s Love is unfathomable in my opinion, like Abraham could only bear a glimpse of the Almighty we can only bear a mere glimpse of His Love. Great poem for meditation Ruth, thank you.

      • Hi Ruth, the temperature has dipped here or should I say dived way down. Thus we are both very cold, even with layers and the heating on. Healthwise we are bearing up. We were a bit concerned for Logan (our 1yr old grandson) who has developed a nasty cold, our prayer is that it is nothing other than a cold. Our son Samuel has started third year studies this week for university via online classes, which will be a new challenge for all concerned. I have managed to stop using dressings on my leg in the last couple of days, “yeeha!” In all these things we trust God, and are thankful for the prayers of our brethren in Christ.

      • Sorry, Alan – I only just saw your message late at night, before settling to sleep. Let’s hope you will both adjust quickly to the onset of Autumn, and not feel the cold so badly. I pray that Logan will indeed turn out just to have a cold, and that Samuel will be able to handle hus online learning. Huge congratulations on the steady progress of your leg. What a milestone to reach! God is good, and everything we experience is a change to share with him, and to grow. May he bless you all xxxxxx
