God is love (1 John 4:16; NLT).

1. God, our Father,
You are love,
Living in all you make.

2. Christ, our Saviour,
You are love,
Suffering for our sake.

3. Holy Spirit,
You are love,
Waiting in every soul.

4. Lord,
You are unfailing love,
Longing to make us whole.

His hands make whole (Job 5:18; NKJV).

1. God is love (1 John 4:16; NLT).

There is […] one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

I am the Lord, who made all things (Isaiah 44:24; NLT).

2. We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Saviour (Philippians 3:20; NLT).

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 John 4:10; NIV).

In all their suffering he also suffered (Isaiah 63:9; NLT).

Though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor (2 Corinthians 8:9; NIV).

3. You have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you (1 John 2:27; NLT).

The Lord must wait for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion (Isaiah 30:18; NLT).

4. The Lord our God is one Lord (Deuteronomy 6:4; RSV).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

The Lord longs to be gracious to you (Isaiah 30:18; NIV).

Upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5; RSV).

  • This is simply beautiful Ruth! The picture, the scriptures, the words…the whole thing! 1 John 4:16 is precious to my memory: my granparents brethren church had this in white concrete lettering in the flower border for the whole world to see for years. Thank you Ruth for your God given craft and obedience to His Word, God bless you sister.

    • You are so kind, Alan! I’m delighted that you like today’s prayer, and that it has evoked precious memories for you. May God bless you both today. NB I’ve been worrying quietly that I might have offended you by asking about S. Have I been too intrusive? My prayers continue, of course. With love from Ruth XXXX

      • Not at all Ruth! Goodness no! Two things for you: 1. I do have a brain injury/condition which makes remembering stuff difficult every day and on other days impossible. My concentration levels are variable at a very low level. Incidentally I have a video conference appointment coming up with my neuro psychologist to review my condition which worries me.
        2. Susan has had amazingly good health and swallowing over the Christmas period. But she still has had difficulty with medication. Having said that, she had a really bad episode of choking two nights ago with a tiny piece of food. We are still awaiting her recall to hospital for treatment, hopefully soon. We are thankful for the power of the prayers from yourself and many other brethren in Christ.

      • My dear Alan, thank you so much for your very kind and reassuring message. It has eased my my a lot. I take your point about your brain condition affecting your memory and concentration, so will understand a lot better next time. It’s so good to hear how Susan is. I’m just about to pray now about her difficulties in swallowing her medication. Plus, this horrible choking episode sounds very alarming, perhaps even traumatic for you both. I deeply hope she will be recalled to hospital very soon, for her essential treatment. Meanwhile, thank you again for replying so generously. My heart goes out to you both with concern and blessings XXXXXXX
