This little cross

Keep on seeking, and you will find
(Matthew 7:7; NLT).

1. Lord,
I saw this little cross,
As I walked
In the rain today,

2. Pointing straight ahead –
A symbol
Showing me
Your humble way.

3. When I saw
This little cross,
It deeply touched
My heart and mind,

4. Reminding me of you –
A sign
That all of us can seek,
And find.

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord (Jeremiah 29:13-14; NIV).

  • Reading this today had me reaching for the cross that hangs around my neck, a constant reminder of His Love for me and His sacrifice at Calvary. The free gift of salvation that cost Him so much, I could never afford or pay. Oh how I cling to Him each day in neverending gratitude and love!

    • You are so right, Alan – clinging to him, cleaving to him, no matter WHAT happens, is the only way. I feel so sorry for all the people who go through life without turning to God, and have no idea how they manage the suffering every life inevitably includes. Only Jesus makes sense of this and helps us through. Hang on to your cross every day! NB Do you have a wooden holding cross? They are so helpful. I have mine in my pocket, and always use it when I’m walking, or joyful, or afraid, or have medical treatment etc. If you don’t have one, I’d be delighted to send you one. Will email you a photo in 2 minutes.
