God is love, and all who live in love live in God,
and God lives in them (1 John 4:16; NLT).
1. I wait, still and silent.
I worship you, Lord.
I listen; I learn;
And I share.
2. I am your body,
Your breath, bone, and blood;
And we live as one, Lord,
Through prayer.
3. You know all my feelings;
My thoughts, words, and deeds.
You are my light, truth,
And way.
4. You are my faith, and my hope,
And my love —
So, let’s start afresh, Lord,
Today.

Those three words say everything, encompassing the whole world and yet caring for little old me too: “God is Love!”
Yes, “God is love” is my watchword. These few words sum up the whole Gospel, really XXXX
Ruth, I love the invitation in which you end today’s poem, “So, let’s start afresh, Lord,
Today.” Too often I carry yesterday’s failures into a new day, even though I’ve confessed them and know I’m forgiven, I still seem to want to carry them forward instead of starting afresh. The Lord certainly used those closing lines to do some work in me. Thank you!
It’s lovely to hit the right note for someone, so many thanks for your comment, Beth. That’s exactly what I meant! XXXXX
