Thank you

Give thanks in all circumstances
(1 Thessalonians 5:18; NIV).

1. Thank you, Lord,
For all you give
To us, both good
And bad.

2. Thank you, Lord,
For all you send:
The joyful,
And the sad.

3. Thank you, Lord,
For all you grant:
For life, and health,
And loss.

4. Thank you, Lord,
For all you share:
Our fear, our pain,
Our cross.

1. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God, and never anything bad? (Job 2:10; NLT).

2. When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other (Ecclesiastes 7:14; NIV).

3. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised (Job 1:21; NIV).

4. In all their suffering he also suffered (Isaiah 63:9; NLT).

  • This is great Ruth! I quoted this verse with someone else yesterday and here it is, straight back at me. It is so easy to be thankful in nice times, but being thankful in the hard times is a true mark of Godliness and grace. It is my prayer that I can meet my challenges each day and remain thankful to God our Father.

    • What a wonderful “God-incidence”! (There’s no such thing as a “coincidence” to my mind). Sending heaps of encouragement, as you practice thanking God for the pain, sorrow, challenges and losses of life p we can practice this together! XXXXXX

      • He has chosen not to heal me, but to hold me. The more intense the pain, the closer His embrace.” —Joni Eareckson Tada
