King of kings (#2 of 2 linked prayers)

🖤

Notice how God is both kind and severe
(Romans 11:22; NLT).

1. Righteous, raging,
King of kings:
You, alone,
Deserve my praise.

2. Jealous, judging,
Lord of lords:
You, alone,
Allot my days.

3. Watchful, wrathful,
God of gods:
You, alone,
Are just, and good.

4. Vengeful, zealous,
First and Last:
You, alone,
Are fire, and love.

God is love
(1 John 4:16; NLT).

  • Amen! How all powerful He is, present in all things at all times. Humbly we accept what He sends, good or bad, and praise Him always. We bow in adoration of the Triune Almighty God. Such surrender brings peace.
Thank you Ruth for this contemplation and prayer, God bless you and lift you up today sister.

    • Ah, you said it all much better than I can, Alan. We are sooo small, and he is so great. “Surrender brings peace”, is a deeply inspiring phrase, now lodged in my heart. May I borrow it, please?

You might like to know that while I was praying for you this morning, a prayer came straight to me, for you. It’s a challenge to write it, but when it’s complete (God willing), I will share it with you. Please give Susan my love and best wishes. May God bless you both very richly today with peace and joy XXXXXX
