I desire to do your will, my God (Psalm 40:8; NLT).
1. Father,
Please remove from me
All foolish pride and vanity;
All judging of my fellows, Lord:
Your will, my mind –
In full accord.
2. Father,
Please remove from me
All selfishness and jealousy;
All quarrelling, and hatred, Lord:
Your will, my heart –
In true accord.
3. Father,
Please remove from me
All arrogance and gluttony;
All callousness, and slander, Lord:
Your will, my soul –
In one accord.

3. From within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you (Mark 7:21-22; NLT).
I hate pride and arrogance (Proverbs 8:13; NLT).
I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbours (Psalm 101:5; NLT).
He who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him (1 Corinthians 6:17; NKJV).
This poem is both simple and profound. There is only one way to live in this temporary world, with our fellow man; that is by His will in complete accord with Him in all things.

Thank you for those kind and understanding words, Alan. How are you today? I’m not very well, I’m afraid, and this isn’t going to change in the foreseeable future. Struggling with fatigue, and awaiting a hospital test that might be very significant. No date yet, but hoping I won’t have to wait too long. Starting a new drug today. Thinking of you both XXXX
I am feeling quite a bit better today praise the Lord. Yesterday’s ultrasound reassured me that there was no cancer lurking down below, glory to God! I am sorry to hear you are struggling with fatique again Ruth, be assured of my prayers for you today sister.

What a wonderful comparison! Thank you for that, David. I do hope you have all your power back on now, and working well together (in every sense)! I smiled at your preferential attention to the coffee pot. My husband is the same. Over the years, I have often come downstairs in the morning to see him sitting silent and glum, a grey cloud over his head. This is when his coffee machine has broken down for the nth time. He now has a little stove-top coffee-maker to fall back on in emergencies, which is a blessing XXXXXX

We lost electrical power for a time last week. I used a portable generator to power the most necessary items. Like the coffee pot.😀 Yet one item, the fan on our gas furnace, would not work. An electrician friend told me it was because the generator was “out of phase” with the fan. I don’t fully understand this, but know it means they weren’t on the same page, so to speak, and weren’t able to work together.
Your thoughts today remind me that it is often the same between God and me. I am out of phase with Him and must come back into sweet fellowship in order to experience the power of His grace.
