I have learned to be content
whatever the circumstances
(Philippians 4:11; NIV).
1. I am content, Lord,
To dwell in your hands –
Whatever you take,
And whatever you give.
2. I am content
To abide in your hands –
Whatever you ask,
For as long as I live.
3. I am content, Lord,
To die in your hands –
Whatever the suffering,
Right to the end.
4. I am content
To remain in your hands –
Together, forever,
My Master, and Friend.
Whether we live or die,
we belong to the Lord
(Romans 14:8; NIV).

What a precious poem Ruth on a personally pertinent scripture for me. I remember lying in hospital ill with my first tumour and God gave me this scripture, oh the release I felt that day! Suddenly I reached the point where your words of your poem today could have been my prayer that day. Thank you sister for reminding me of that blessed time, to encourage me again. I pray that you have a blessed Lord’s Day Ruth.
What mysterious and complex ways God works in, Alan. I’m always delighted when one of these prayers reverberates for you in a helpful and encouraging way. Thank you so much for your blessings, too. I had my first Covid vaccination yesterday, and feel rather seedy today. May God bless you every step of the way XXXXX
