This little cross

1. This little cross
Is made of faith.
It teaches me
Your way.

2. This little cross
Is made of hope.
It helps me
Through each day.

3. This little cross
Is made of love
For everyone
Whose life I touch.

4. This little cross
Is made of prayer,
Because I need you, Lord,
So much.

1-3. Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13; NLT).

3. Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them (Romans 12:9; NLT).

Be kind to everyone (2 Timothy 2:24; NLT).

Anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me (Matthew 18:5; NLT).

Love your neighbour as yourself (Mark 12:31; NLT).

Love the stranger (Deuteronomy 10:19; NKJV).

Show love to foreigners (Deuteronomy 10:19; NLT).

Love your enemies! (Matthew 5:44; NLT).

4. Pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17; NIV).

God blesses those who are poor and realise their need for him (Matthew 5:3; NLT).

  • Is this a new “little cross” poem or the same one? I know you did one a few weeks ago, but I can’t remember the details of it.
A visual and physical reminder of Calvary is a good thing to have, it focusses the spirit on our Anchor that never moves. It guides us Heavenwards in faith giving us hope each day, our hearts filled with petitions of love. In this we have all we need for our journey Home!
