As I die

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me
(Psalm 23:4; KJV).

1. As I die, Lord,
You will hold me.

2. As I die,
You will enfold me.

3. As I die, Lord,
You will lead me.

4. As I die,
You will receive me.

Into your hands I commit my spirit;
deliver me, Lord, my faithful God
(Psalm 31:5; NIV).

  • Your poem today touches on the security of the child of God facing death, a peaceful assurance which is beautiful to witness. On the other hand there is the torturous fear of the unbelievers which is not pleasant at all. As a care assistant in the past I have seen both, I know which one I prefer.

    • I honestly don’t know how people who have no faith manage life at all, let alone death. It must be horrifying to be so alone… xxxx
