1. Lord,
I want to pray, rejoice,
And thank you.

I want to serve,
Console, forgive,
And love.

2. Lord,
I want to plead
For your forgiveness,

Then follow
In your steps,
Saved by your blood.

3. Lord,
I want to spread
Your priceless gospel,

So others learn
To worship,
And adore.

4. Lord,
I want to bear
My cross to heaven,

Where I
Will lay it down
For evermore.

Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all (Mark 9:35; NIV).

    • That’s comforting, Alan. I just feel more and more limited and disabled, constantly letting God down. Can’t even go upstairs without getting breathless and feeling faint. No energy, and we don’t see anyone, though our lockdown might start to lift a bit tomorrow. It’s months since I’ve been to mass, and I learned this week that our priest has left, without even saying goodbye. All our churches are still locked. Lots of headaches and migraines. Really struggling. Sorry t be selfish: how are both of you? XXXXXXXX

      • Both Susan and I are in fair health at present. I have some discomfort from pain, but it is nowhere like the worst. I pray for you often Ruth, but today I will lift up your specific points mentioned by you to Him. May you know the comfort of His Peace surrounding you sister.

      • I’m pleased that life sounds reasonably manageable at present, Alan, even though you have to live with this pain and discomfort. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your prayers, and I continue to pray for you both each day.

        NB I’ve searched multiple translations for your precious quote from Numbers, but cannot find it. So, please forgive me for asking 2 questions:

        1. What version of the Bible are you quoting from, please,
        and
        2. Is the reference definitely accurate?

        I have used the New American Standard Bible since my youth. It is the most accurate in my personal view next to the KJV.
