Every breath (for David)

Whoever lives in love lives in God,
and God in them (1 John 4:16; NIV).

May every breath I take
Be shared with you,
And every thought I have
Become a prayer.

May every word I speak
Be filled with love,
And every task I face
Be done with care.

Then I will dwell, Lord, always
In your hand.
No matter what I face,
You’ll help me through:

Lord,
May I rest forever
In your peace,
And dwell in perfect unity
With you.

You also are complete
through your union with Christ
(Colossians 2:10; NLT).

  • I read the whole poem this morning, but didn’t see the “for David” until the second time. I apologize for the late reply, sister Ruth. It’s a good thing I often reread your posts!

I love your poem—especially the part about being able to face whatever comes by God’s grace.

    Blessings.🙏❤️

    • I’m so glad you realised it’s for you, having come via a very kind message you once sent me which resurfaced recently
in my mind. Many thanks! NB Sorry I don’t know your surname. Normally, I just put the initials when inspiration comes through another person. Have a blessed day, whatever it brings ☦️ xxxxx

      • My surname is Duncan, and I am of Scottish descent. Hence my affinity with our mutual friend A. K. Your poem comes at a good time, as I have been asked to take on additional leadership responsibilities at work. This feels like a stretch for me, because I am an Barnabas type leader, not a Paul type.

Again, thank you for the poem. May God strengthen you today and every day as you walk in his will.

      • Thank you so much for writing, David. I do hope all will work out well for you in this matter of additional leadership responsibilities. May God bless you in everything. With love from Ruth ☦️ xxxxxx
