Simple prayers

When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans,
for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
(Matthew 6:7; NIV).

1. May my prayers
Be simple, Lord,
For you already know
My needs.

2. May my prayers
Be honest, Lord:
You know my thoughts,
And words, and deeds.

3. May my prayers
Be Christ-like, Lord:
Pleading for others,
Judging none;

4. And may my prayers
Be constant, Lord,
Then we will always
Live as one.
