Trials and tests

The Lord your God is testing you to find out whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul.
(Deuteronomy 13:3; NIV).

Give thanks in all circumstances.
(1 Thessalonians 5:18; NIV).

1. Thank you, Lord, for every trouble,
Every trial and test.
As I face them all with you,
I know I’m truly blest.

2. Guide me, Lord, through every sorrow,
Every trial and test.
As I share them all with you,
I try to do my best.

3. Help me, Lord, with every burden,
Every trial and test.
As I bear them all with you,
I find your perfect rest.

🖤

Come to me all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light (Matthew 11:28-30; NLT).

      • That’s good news, Alan. This isn’t an upgrade: my previous iPad just locked up completely yesterday around lunchtime. Nothing would help, though we tried all the advised approaches. I had a migraine, so today John, a true gentleman, drove to Douglas and bought me a new one. We’ve just set it up, rather shakily together! xxxxxxxx

      • What a great guy John is! If you’re anything like me your tablet was well used when it started to complain…my last one could hardly hold charge eventually. Enjoy your new pad sister.

      • Thank you for such a lovely message, Alan. That made me smile. Yes, my old one had developed multiple creaks and groans. It kept going until it could do no more. No regrets, but it made me realise how much I depend on it for posting my blogs, staying in touch with far-flung people, and responding to messages. Maybe the golden “like” star will even work on this super-strong new model! If you have time, do let me know how you and Susan are. I pray for you both. Hope you will have a blessed weekend. ✝️ With love from Ruth xxxx
