He will not crush the weakest reed
or put out the flickering candle
(Matthew 12:20; NLT).

Lord,

1. May I listen carefully
To those whose paths cross mine,
At least, not hurting them, because
They are your holy shrine.

2. May I speak the truth in love
To those along my way,
At least, not wounding them, because
You care for them each day.

3. And may I ask your blessing, Lord,
For those whose lives I touch,
At least, not crushing them, because
You love them all so much.

Is a breakthrough
When I face it, Lord,
With you.

Is a blessing –
Lord, your saints show
This is true.

3. Every struggle
Is a call
To follow you
Along life’s way –

4. To change and grow,
So I may serve
In all I feel, think, do,
And say.

Thankfulness

(1 Thessalonians 5:18; NIV).

1. Thank you, Lord,
For everything you give me,
For everything I have
Comes straight from you:

2. My way, my truth, my life,
My goal, my purpose;
My faith, my hope, my love:
Yours, through and through;

3. My blessings, Lord:
Each gift that makes me joyful;
My sorrows:
Every cross that I must bear;

4. Help me to learn
From everything you send me,
Whilst thanking you
For all your tender care.
