God mourns

The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.
(Genesis 6:5-6; NLT)

God mourns
To see our bitter hatred,

Sad he made us all
From dust.

He grieves
To see our wilful blindness,

Waiting, weeping
Over us.

The Lord must wait for you to come to him
so he can show you his love and compassion.
(Isaiah 30:18;
NLT)

“Only God can turn the dark night into glorious heavenly light”
(Alan Kearns).

Lord,

1. Turn our anguish
Into peace;
Our darkness
Into dazzling light.

2. Turn our sorrow
Into joy;
Our blindness
Into perfect sight.

3. Turn our judgements
Into love;
Our sickness
Into welcome rest,

4. And turn our dying
Into life eternal,
When we’ve faced
Each test.
