Giving up

Father God,
I feel like giving up;

Turning my face to the wall,
And giving up.

Yet with your help, Lord,
I can scale this wall,

And stand up to a multitude
Of fears;

For with you
There is strength, Lord God,
And healing;

But without you
Only hopelessness,
And tears.

May I wake in hope,
And wait in faith.

May I wait in faith,
And live in love.

May I live in love,
And rest in peace.

Easter Day

Happy Easter to you all xxxxxxx

Lord,

Helping those who suffer
Is the same as helping you –
This is what you taught your friends,
And I believe it’s true.

Lifting those who stumble
Is the same as lifting you –
Thus, Simon had to lend his strength,
So you could stand anew.

Serving those who perish
Is the same as serving you –
Like Mary, and her sister,
And their friend, the Magdalen.

Loving other people
Is the same as loving you –
As God loved you on Easter Day,
So you could rise again.

Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me (Matthew 25:40; NIV).

As they led Jesus away, a man named Simon, who was from Cyrene, happened to be coming in from the countryside. The soldiers seized him and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus (Luke 23:26; NLT).

Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene (John 19:25; NLT).

God raised him to life on the third day (Acts 10:40; NLT).

I praise you

Father God,
I praise you –
You are so kind to me.

Father God,
I thank you –
You heal, and set me free.

Father God,
I love you –
You wash away my sin.

Father God,
I serve you –
My Saviour, and my King.

I cry to you

Lord,
When I can’t pray
I cry to you;
When I can’t face the day
I fly to you.

Lord,
When I’m storm-tossed
I cry to you;
And when all hope is lost
I fly to you.

Lord,
When I despair
I cry to you;
Trusting in your care,
I fly to you.

Lord,
When I must die
I’ll cry to you,
And then my soul, at last,
Will fly to you.

I’ll fully live!

Tests

Hello, everyone. I want to let you all know that I’m in hospital with breathing difficulties, just in case there is some disruption to my daily posts. I was admitted on Monday, and am currently waiting to have a scan and, hopefully, a diagnosis. Love to you all, from Ruth XXXXX

Lord,

Whether my tests are great or small,
May I help those who stumble.

Whether my pain is strong or weak,
May I help others through.

Whether my tears fall fast or slow,
May I help those who suffer.

Whether my life is long or short,
May I, like Christ, serve you.
