Temptation

Sin is crouching at your door;
it desires to have you,
but you must rule over it
(Genesis 4:7; NIV).

1. Temptation comes
When our desires
Entice, then drag, us
To the place

2. Where they give birth
To sinful thoughts,
And words, and deeds
That hide God’s face.

3. Yet, as we stumble
In the dark,
He helps us to resist,
Through grace.

Beyond this church,
Yet all is calm inside.

Beyond these walls,
So here, Lord God, I hide.

Beyond these doors,
But I will fear no ill,

4. For though life ends
Beyond this place,
You whisper: Peace, be still.

May I live in you

(1 John 4:16; NIV).

May I live in you,
Following your Son
Along the way.

May I trust in you,
Praying in your Spirit
Every day.

May I hide in you,
Rejoicing in your presence
And your peace.

4. Father,
May I rest in you,
Knowing we are one, Lord,
Without cease.
