We come from you

🧡

Almighty God,

We come from you,
The One who gives us life,
And breath,

Until we reunite with you,
For evermore,
Beyond our death.

Help me, Lord

🤎

You are to be perfect,
even as your Father in heaven is perfect
(Matthew 5:48; NLT).

1. Help me, Lord,
To follow in your footsteps,
To walk with you,
And slowly be reformed.

2. Help me, Lord,
To understand your teaching,
To sit with you,
And gladly be transformed.

3. Help me, Lord,
To love and serve, as you did,
Like you in all I feel, think, say,
And do.

4. Help me, Lord,
To live and die as you did,
For then, at last, I’ll reunite
With you.

❤️

1. Father,
May I praise your name,
Serving in all I do;
Then I will see your face, at last,
For I belong to you.

2. Jesus,
May I face each day
Bearing my cross anew;
Then I will share your joy, at last,
For I am part of you.

3. Spirit,
May I hear your voice
Teaching me all that’s true;
Then we will reunite, at last,
For I am one with you.

💙

May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven
(Matthew 6:10; NLT).

Lord,

1. At birth
We separate from you –
Living in exile,
Far from heaven above.

2. Each day,
We search for you as best we can –
Bearing our burdens;
Growing in your love.

3. Throughout our lives
We strive to do your will –
Serving your kingdom;
Following your Son.

4. In death,
We reunite with you at last –
Dwelling beyond all time,
For we are one.

Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love
(Romans 8:38; NLT).

The dawn of your love

🌕

1. Each day, Lord,
I wake in the dawn of your love,
And pray
In your heavenly light.

2. Each morning,
I wash in the fall of your dew,
Then take up my cross
In your sight.

3. Each evening,
I rest in the shade of your wings,
Then sleep in your arms
All night through.

4. But one day you’ll call
My frail spirit back home —
Then I’ll reunite, Lord,
With you.

A little bit of heaven

🍁

We have the Holy Spirit within as a foretaste of future glory
(Romans 8:23; NLT).

1. You make my church
A little bit of heaven –
A foretaste of the joy
That lies ahead.

2. You make my mind
A little bit of heaven –
A place that’s sometimes free
Of pain and dread.

3. You make my heart
A little bit of heaven –
A space where we can talk,
And share our love.

4. You make my soul
A little bit of heaven –
Until we reunite
In bliss, above.

Life, death, and heaven

Image: Lenka Novotná, Pixabay

1. Life means stretching thin our eternal oneness with God, in order to be born into a unique and fragile body, here, on earth.

2. Life means longing for our original union with him, and searching everywhere, until we find him at last, waiting within our soul.

3. Life means learning to love everyone, without exception, because God dwells in us all, and loves us all very deeply.

4. Death means leaving our failing, mortal body, to reunite with him for evermore –

5. And this is Heaven.
